Easy No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Drizzle

No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake Recipe

One in awhile its interesting to indulge in a recipe like this, even if it’s not something I make often. I don’t typically serve things like Oreo cookies, as they have some food additives that I don’t encourage, but every now and then, a little indulgence won’t hurt. This no-bake Oreo cheesecake is perfect for those special occasions when you want to treat yourself and your family. It is sort of more of a dessert that young people would gravitate towards. It is easy to prepare—no oven needed! You can make it in the morning and have a rich, creamy dessert by dinner time. The combination of the classic Oreo crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and homemade chocolate syrup drizzle makes this an irresistible treat. And, of course, garnishing it with mini Oreos gives it that fun, nostalgic touch that everyone loves!

With over 450 billion Oreos sold worldwide, they’ve become the best-selling cookie of the 20th century. Whether enjoyed on their own, dunked in milk, or used in desserts like this no-bake cheesecake, Oreos continue to be a favorite for people of all ages!

Yield:

1 cheesecake (9-inch springform pan)

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

16 regular-size Oreo cookies (with cream filling)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cheesecake Filling:

1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
8 regular-size Oreo cookies, crushed

For the Topping:

1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Mini Oreo cookies for garnish

For the Chocolate Syrup:

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Prepare the Crust:

Crush Oreos: Place the 16 whole Oreo cookies (including the cream filling) in a food processor or blender. Pulse until the cookies turn into fine crumbs.
Personal Tip: If you don’t have a food processor, place the cookies in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

Mix with Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with melted butter. Mix until well combined and the mixture resembles wet sand.

Form the Crust: Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Use the back of a spoon or the bottom of a glass to press the crumbs firmly. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

Whip the Cream: In a large bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
Personal Tip: Cold heavy cream whips up faster and holds its shape better.

Mix Cream Cheese: In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Fold in Whipped Cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated.

Add Crushed Oreos: Fold in the 8 crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Cheesecake:

Fill the Pan: Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Chill: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the cheesecake to set.

Prepare the Topping:

Whip the Cream: In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Pipe the Cream: Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe whipped cream rosettes around the edge of the cheesecake.

Garnish: Place 3 mini Oreo cookies on each slice portion of cheesecake.

Prepare the Chocolate Syrup:

Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and water.

Cook: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes, continuing to stir.

Add Vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the syrup cool to room temperature.

Finish the Cheesecake:

Serve: Carefully remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and serve chilled.

Drizzle: Drizzle the cooled chocolate syrup over the cheesecake.

Kitchen Tips, Great Ideas, How to Save Money

  1. Crust Options: Use regular Oreos for the crust but mini Oreos for the garnish for the best presentation.

  2. Bulk Buying: Purchase cream cheese and heavy cream in bulk to save money.

  3. Homemade Syrup: Making your own chocolate syrup is cheaper and allows you to control the sweetness.

  4. Storage: Store leftover cheesecake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  5. Freezing: Freeze the cheesecake (without the whipped cream and syrup) for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.

  6. Decoration Variations: Add a sprinkle of crushed Oreos or chocolate shavings for extra decoration.

  7. Cost-Effective: Use store-brand cream cheese and generic sandwich cookies to reduce costs without sacrificing flavor.

  8. Serving Suggestions: Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert.

  9. Portion Control: For smaller gatherings, halve the recipe and use a 6-inch springform pan.

  10. Flavor Enhancements: Add a teaspoon of instant coffee granules to the chocolate syrup for a mocha flavor.

Let’s Talk About Oreo Cookies – What’s in an Oreo?

Oreo cookies are a beloved treat, but have you ever wondered what’s really in them? The classic Oreo consists of two chocolate wafers and a sweet cream filling. The ingredients include sugar, unbleached enriched flour, palm and canola oil, cocoa processed with alkali, leavening agents, soy lecithin (an emulsifier), and artificial flavorings. While they are undeniably tasty, some of these ingredients, like high-fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors, are less ideal for health-conscious consumers. The good news is that there are now some healthier alternatives, such as organic or natural versions of chocolate sandwich cookies, which swap out artificial ingredients for more wholesome ones. However, if you’re indulging in Oreos occasionally, just remember that moderation is key!
