Tips for Success
- Fresh or Frozen Corn: Use fresh corn when in season, or frozen corn for convenience. Both work wonderfully!
- Thicker Chowder: For a thicker consistency, mash some of the potatoes or blend a portion of the chowder.
- Add Heat: For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños.
- Smoky Flavor: The smoked paprika adds depth, but you can skip it or replace it with a dash of liquid smoke.
- Vegetarian Option: Omit the bacon and use vegetable broth for a meat-free version.
- Make Ahead: The chowder tastes even better the next day! Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Garnish Ideas: Try topping with shredded cheddar cheese or a dollop of sour cream for extra richness.
