Ingredients
For the Pasta and Beef
- 12 ounces farfalle pasta (bowtie pasta)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced into pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for flavor)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Alfredo Sauce
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional Garnishes
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Additional Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the farfalle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Beef
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the beef strips with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
- Add the beef to the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned and just cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream and milk, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Add the nutmeg (if using) and season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
Step 4: Combine and Serve
- Add the cooked farfalle pasta to the Alfredo sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Return the beef strips to the skillet and mix gently to combine. Cook for 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
Kitchen Tips
- For extra flavor, you can deglaze the skillet with a splash of white wine before adding the cream.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture in the Alfredo sauce.
- You can substitute chicken or shrimp for the beef if you prefer.
This Beef and Farfalle Pasta with Alfredo Sauce is creamy, savory, and sure to become a family favorite. Serve it with a side of garlic bread or a crisp green salad for a complete meal!
